Walk to End Homelessness
LightHouse Social Service Centers, recently participated in the April 12th (2014) Walk to End Homelessness, in Riverside, CA. The event featured twenty exhibitors including churches, social service agencies, food banks, and housing assistance organizations. LightHouse was honored to be represented in the walk, as four members of our team participated in the festivities. LightHouse’s very own, outreach specialist Mark Houck, intake specialist Lily Palacios, were both active in the event along with case managers, James McPherson and John Cole.
According to Michelle Davis, a housing project manager for the city of Riverside, the turnout for the first Walk to End Homelessness, exceeded the goal of 250 participants, raising nearly $30,000 to install laundry and shower facilities at a homeless service campus on Hulen Place, also located in Riverside, CA.
